What is Black Butte Ranch?

Black Butte Ranch is a private, 1,800-acre resort community in Central Oregon's Deschutes National Forest. The ranch houses over 500 cabins and condos, two championship golf courses, five swimming pools, four restaurants, and 18 miles of bike and horseback riding trails through the property. How do I get around?

Cars and Bikes

Uber/Lyft should not be relied on! We highly recommend renting a car to get to and from Black Butte due to its isolated nature. And with the property being nearly eight square miles, a car can be helpful around the Ranch as well. Taxis and shuttles can be a transportation option to and from the Redmond airport, but please plan ahead and book reservations in advance. Bikes can be rented from the Glaze Meadow Recreation Center and are an ideal way to explore the Ranch! Some house rentals will have bikes as well. We will provide shuttle services to and from the wedding (and after party) for those staying on the BBR property! More details to come, including pick up locations and times.

How do I check in when I arrive?

Even if you are staying in a property rented through Airbnb or VRBO, you need to first check in at the welcome center for a parking pass and gate code. The welcome center is open daily until 11pm, after 11pm you can head to the police station (instructions will be listed at the welcome center) for a temporary fix.

What is the dress code?

Please wear summer formal attire - for guys, suits or sport coats is ideal. And for ladies, think summery midi or tea-length dresses, or jumpsuits. The ceremony and dinner will be outdoors on grass and we will be moving inside for dancing.

When should I arrive and where shoud I stay?

We recommend arriving in Central Oregon mid-week, if possible, to have time to enjoy everything this PNW paradise has to offer. For convenience to wedding events, grab a group of friends or family and stay in one of the many cabins on the Black Butte Ranch property. If you need to fill or join a cabin, let us know!

Is there parking for the ceremony and reception?

Yes, there will be parking available at the lodge for the ceremony and reception. However, there will also be transportation from the cabins in BBR to the lodge for the wedding. We encourage all guests planning on partaking in the bar to take the bus as there is also transportation to the after-party. Bus schedule and pick-up locations to come.

Are children welcome?

Due to limited space at the venue, we have chosen our wedding to be an evening for grown-ups only. The Wedding Ceremony and Reception will be 21+, so we respectfully ask that children do not attend.
